Feel like a drink or a wine? Want to throw a liquor party? – Gone are the days of worry, as every city these days has at least one Wine and Spirits Store in a given area. This could be just an evening walk, or a small drive away from your work place, or your home. There is no dearth of good wine and spirits stores in any place.
Opening and running your own wine and spirits’ stores is not a big deal. One just has to be a cautious and obey all the rules and regulations of the liquor authorities. These could be things like having an authenticated and valid liquor license which is renewed and re renewed as per stipulations. The Store owner should be obedient and respect the excise and liquor officials in maintaining peace and order in their own respective liquor city. This can be done by not making any sales on public holidays – especially in India and also not encouraging children to drink.
No child who is less than 18 years is allowed to buy or consume liquor of any kind. It is the responsibility of the Wine Store owner, to make it his onus not to retail wine, beer or any sort of light or strong, cheap liquor or top liquor which is there in his liquor inventory or liquor list to minors. In a nut shell, the Wine and Spirits’ Stores owner should fix and run his business in keeping with their specific rules.
Do not give a cause to the city police or liquor and excise authorities to keep you on their hit list. If once you are black listed then your store is full time under their vigilance and observation. Breach of contract with the authorities can also lead to confiscation of your liquor license and your store then is forced to cease its operations. Who wants’ this, in addition to the stiff competition the store owner any way has to face.
You must make it a practice to fight the competition (not the competitor please) by extending your unique and extra ordinary service to your customers. It goes without saying that the quality of the wine and liquor you retail must be unquestionable. There should be no compromise on variety or quality. The décor and ambience of the store should be an attraction to your customers. The customer should feel like spending more time at the store than actually required.
If you expand your services by also keeping some snaky items like types of cheese that go along with different drinks, some meats like sausages etc. that are supposed to be eaten with particular types of wines and liquors will be an added service to your customer and he will appreciate and would want to or rather look forward to coming back to your wine and spirits store to avail all your care and thoughtful services. Remember –word of mouth is the best and the cheapest or rather a free way of advertising your Wine and spirits’ store!!
