Liquor for sale
Liquor for sale in any country brings revenue to the country’s government. This by all means demands that the liquor retailers, distributors, restaurants, bars, liquor stores or any liquor outlet for that matter should have a liquor license. The sale has to take place as per the rules and regulations of the government and excise authorities. The liquor license has to be renewed after stipulated number of years. This is not a cheap affair and the license renewal fee goes up speedily.
Octroi duty regulations have also to be adhered to while carting the liquor from one place to another. Within octroi limits is permissible and free but beyond octroi limits – could be in the same city – one has to pay octroi for delivery etc. This could be from one distributor to the other distributor, or one warehouse to another, from the distributor to different liquor outlets in the liquor city.
Liquor for sale; is permissible keeping in mind the buyers age. This could vary from 18 – 21 years of age; in different cities and countries. A minor caught misbehaving after consuming liquor or caught driving or rash driving or held responsible for an accident or him or / herself has met with an accident is penalized and punished under custody. This drags the liquor retailer also in serious trouble. This could be as severe as imprisonment.
Sale of liquor is good business and one can make a quick buck but you always have to do things the right way and be cautious in all right or wrong you do. Different cities, States and countries have different prohibition rules. Some States in India do not allow liquor to be sold at all. The same goes for a few countries. Liquor stores in India who advertise “Liquor for Sale” have to keep abreast of public holidays and festivals when liquor sale is taboo.
These rules and regulations by the liquor authorities goes for all types of liquor drink – Beer, wine, Spirits, branded liquor, Liquor King, Green liquor, Cheap liquor, Top liquor. In short every type of liquor coming out of the liquor store and which is part of the liquor store’s liquor list and appears on their liquor inventory. It could be liquor delivery at the customer’s door step or online delivery. If you are caught selling on prohibition days, it’s an offence which could lead to legal action – heavy penalty etc.
The city of Lahore is fighting for its Liquor for Sale rights. With good support from minority people The Punjab Assembly has expressed their need to earn by selling liquor. They are demanding the government to take action to remove the ban from selling, buying and producing liquor. They should stop calling income received from liquor sale as prohibited according to Islam.
